TO BE HONORED AT THE LONG ISLAND FILM/TV FOUNDATION'S AWARD CEREMONY GALA

          The Long Island International Film Expo, which is sponsored by the Nassau County Film Commission, the Malverne Cinema 4 and the Long Island Film/TV Foundation is proud to announce the 2002 Long Island International Film Expo.  This independent film festival will be held from July 12 - 18, at the Malverne Cinema 4.  Seventy-six films of all genres will be shown, including both short and feature length projects.

Movies to be shown include projects starring Harvey Keitel, Joseph Bologna, Renee Taylor, Tom Bosley, Connie Stevens, Shelly Duvall, Steve Guttenberg, Peter Greene, Wendie Malick, Barbara Babcock,
Jill Eikenberry, Seymour Cassel, Frank Gorshin, Louise Fletcher, Shirley Jones, Cloris Leachman, Dan Lauria, John Shea and others.  Films also include directorial debuts such as short film, Love Thy Brother, directed by Ralph Macchio and P.S. Your Cat Is Dead, directed by Steve Guttenberg.  Many directors, producers and actors will answer audience questions after the screening of their films.

Winners of the Long Island International Film Expo will be honored at the Salute to Independent Filmmakers and Awards Ceremony Gala at the Vanderbilt in Plainview on Thursday, August 22, 2002 from 6:30 PM - Midnight.  Additional honorees include Nassau County Executive Thomas R. Suozzi as Patron of the Arts, Detective Steven McDonald with the Humanitarian Award and Donna Drake of Drake Media Network for the Friend of the Foundation Award.  Steve Guttenberg, Cliff Robertson and Joe Franklin will be presenters during this star-studded awards ceremony.  Other celebrity honorees and presenters to be announced.  As always, celebrities are schedule permitting.
